The view from Table Mountain

This afternoon we went to the top of Table Mountain in a gondola that rotated inside so we got a 360 view of the ascent.  Table Mountain is the giant gray rocky mountain that stands flat and long behind the city of Cape Town, dominating the city and the view.  The top isn't quite as flat as it appears from below, and it's possible to walk the top to see the view from all four sides.  There's a little cafe on the top, and of course a gift store.  There are also some really cute looking little furry creatures called dassies, looking like the cuter cousins of the woodchuck.  In fact they are a kind of a mountain badger, but they are fat and sweet and really really placid.  They were happy to pose for photos and participate in all kinds of selfies. We were lucky and the weather was perfect and clear, and there were not many clouds (important because we were above the cloud line.  A cloudy day means not being able to see down over the city or the sea).
